Tenzinling Resort

We spent two nights at the resort. The staff were excellent, especially Tashi, Basana, Tenzing and Tandin, who were very helpful with our needs. There were internet issues, but I’d still recommend the resort for a trip to Paro.

The rooms are in separate two-storey blocks with lovely valley views, while reception, the lounge, bar and restaurant are together in the main building. It's a beautifully built place, though far enough outside town that walking in isn't practical. The rooms now have both heating and air conditioning, so earlier complaints about cold rooms no longer apply, apart from the bathrooms, which still aren't heated. Service was good, but some things, including spa treatments and currency exchange, weren't available so early in the season. Breakfast was good. Dinner was disappointing, with little choice and usually just one meat dish alongside pasta, rice, potatoes and vegetables. One night that dish was pork fat slices in gravy, a local delicacy, but not really suited to tourists, and I couldn't eat it.

The dining team, especially Tashi Uhamo, Tenzin pelden and Jamyang Dena, were very helpful and supportive. Dinner had a good range of vegetarian food, though breakfast options were very limited and need improvement. The staff were courteous, and we had a pleasant stay.

The property itself is fine, but service was really poor during our two-night stay. Dinner and room service were both bad. The TV didn't work, and when we asked, staff said it wouldn't work because the Wi-Fi was down. If that's the case, the TV shouldn't be listed as a hotel amenity. It felt like they were understaffed, but that's not the guest's problem.
