Dewachen Resort

The food was good, and I had a great massage. The room itself could use some attention, though. There were old water stains and chipped wallboard in the bathroom, the pillowcases didn’t cover the pillows properly, and the lamp shades were torn. At least the space heater kept us warm.

It’s wonderfully quiet here, tucked away from everything, with gorgeous views all around. My room and bathroom were both spacious and clean, and the wood paneling plus the wooden stove gave the room a lovely feel. The food was very good, and the staff were excellent. I absolutely loved the place.

The garden was a lovely surprise, with peach and apple trees where we could pick fruit straight from the branches. Inside, the rooms had nice wooden interiors and balconies with great views. It was so calm that at 4am all we could hear was the nearby river. I visited in August 2018, and the food was good too. There isn’t a market nearby, so it feels quite isolated, though that could also be a plus. The only room issue for me was the lighting: just dim yellow lights, with nothing bright enough for reading.

We liked the view from our room, and the bed and bedding were good. The rest of our experience wasn’t good: the shower didn’t work, the Wi-Fi was very spotty at best, and the buffet dinner was terrible. I can’t recommend this hotel.
