We stayed at Namsay Choeling for a night. The rooms were huge, with two queen beds each, and two heaters, one by each bed, kept us comfortable in the cold. Bathrooms were clean and had a bathtub. The water had a slight yellow tinge, though, so we avoided washing our hair. The vegetarian dinner was simple, light, and very tasty, mostly Indian food, just right before the Tiger’s Nest trek the next day. We had bottle gourd sabzi, okra (bhindi), chapati, dal, and rice. They kindly packed sandwiches, fruit, and juice for our early departure. The staff, mostly women, were extremely courteous and warm. It's a comfortable, well-made resort a little away from the main street.

The staff are very friendly and prompt, and there's intercom service. We enjoyed the food, which suited our Indian palate. The hotel is a little outside main Paro town, where mornings bring the sweet sound of birds. Rooms are quite large, with a storage cabinet and a sitting area.

We stayed four nights while I attended a workshop. The rooms were spacious, and there was a shady garden. Service was excellent. We accidentally left our toothbrush charger behind, and the staff kindly returned it to us in Thimphu.
