Pelri Cottages

Reaching the cottages at the top gave me an awesome feeling, with the whole valley spread out in view. It felt like heaven on earth. A big thanks to the two owners for the stay and for making my bike trip in Bhutan such a great experience. See you again sometime.

The cottages are beautifully designed and show off Bhutanese architecture gracefully. But maintenance is a serious problem. It calls itself three star, yet the facilities don’t back that up. There are too many restrictions compared with other hotels in Bhutan, and it reminded me of college, with fines imposed for every other thing. The washrooms were not user friendly at all. We were four families, and the geysers and room heaters weren’t working properly in three of our cottages. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The cottage was lovely and the food very good, though it costs a little more than restaurants in the main town. There’s a geyser and room heater available 24X7. The main issue is that reception and the restaurant shut very early, at 9.30pm, and nobody is there until morning. Still, an awesome place to stay at paro.

The staff were super friendly and the hotel has a beautiful view, especially at sunrise when the light hits the valley through the mountains. Our cottage was huge, and the rooms were clean and tidy. I loved the room. There aren’t any other food options nearby, and the WiFi only works around reception.
