Shomo Chuki Resort

We came here for our first wedding anniversary and really loved the place. The hotel staff arranged a candlelight dinner for us on their own. They were very hospitable, and I’d recommend it to anyone who loves peace and safety.

I stayed for one night and had a good experience. The food was awesome, and it was simply worth the money. I don’t think I’d have found another hotel in that price range. I wish I could have stayed longer. My experience at another hotel, Taktsangri la near tiger’s neat, wasn’t good.

We had a lovely stay at Shomo Chuki Resort. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. Our spacious, comfortable room had facilities that all worked perfectly. I’d happily recommend it to other travellers and would gladly come back myself.

The rooms are spacious and clean, with clean washrooms and linens. I appreciated the thoughtful 60 litre water heater, and the room heater was powerful. The staff were very humble, some of the kindest people I’ve met. But the rooms are average and have very poor noise insulation. With the balcony doors open, you can hear the whole false ceiling making creaky noises, and even turning on a washroom tap makes a lot of noise in the room. There’s no lift, so elders should plan accordingly. The food was the worst I’ve had in Bhutan: soaked in oil, with no salt or taste. The rice and vegetables were half cooked, and the fish fry was tasteless and oil soaked. Wi-Fi was the worst I’ve encountered across all the hotels.
