Lemon Tree Hotel Thimphu

The property and the rooms are very good. Food was just okay, and breakfast service was chaotic: tables went uncleared, food wasn’t replenished, and orders were forgotten. The website advertises high-speed WiFi, but it barely worked, so you need your own local data card or roaming.

My stay at Lemon Tree Hotel Thimphu was pretty average. The room felt cramped because it was so compact, and the food was honestly bad. The hospitality was okay, but the staff seemed a bit lost and unsure what was happening. Nothing stood out, though nothing was terrible either. It could work as a simple place to sleep, as long as you don’t expect much.

The food was amazing, especially the chef’s work. The rooms were clean and nice, and the staff were polite and helpful. A good hotel to stay in.

We expected more from Lemon Tree because of its good reputation in India, but our Thimphu stay was disappointing and felt like a waste of money. The accommodation itself was decent, but poor food and unprofessional service overshadowed it, and it didn’t meet the standard I’d expect from Lemon Tree. The food was extremely oily and bland, with almost no flavor, so it was a very unsatisfactory experience. I’d give it 0/10. Service gets 3/10: staff seemed untrained and struggled with basic communication in English or Hindi. Service was slow and often took repeated follow-ups. Even a simple request for milk powder was delayed until we showed them a picture. Overall, 3/10.
