Best Neapolitan pizza in town! Chef Tshering’s pizza and ciabatta with cheese and olive oil were delicious, and Pastry Chef Ramakant’s homemade sorbets were refreshing and exceptional, especially the beetroot and mango flavors. Service was outstanding, and the staff were attentive and friendly. I can’t remember the young woman’s name, but she was professional and made us feel very welcome. A top-notch meal with excellent food and hospitality. Highly recommended!

Our two Indian vegetarian families, one Jain and one non-Jain, had quite specific and complex dietary requirements. The restaurant team took great care to understand them and prepare the food consistently. Chef Shivam was outstanding. His patience, understanding, execution, flavors, presentation, and personal involvement were world class, and he handled our preferences with warmth and precision every time. The whole Pemako team made us feel cared for, respected, and at home. We’ve stayed at luxury properties in many countries, but this experience at Pemako Thimphu was uniquely heartwarming. They also kindly upgraded us to a beautiful suite, and the warmth and attention to detail were wonderful throughout. Thank you to Chef Shivam and everyone at Pemako for such a memorable stay for our families.

The pool is heated and well maintained, with good hygiene and discipline. In the evening, Bhutanese dress was provided for the cultural programme, and the front office manager helped me wear it so I looked like a Bhutanese king. The cultural show was very good. Early the next morning, we received a monk’s blessing under the stupa built at the hotel. The monk tied a thread around each wrist, in a color based on the person’s birth year. It was a divine experience and, for me, the best part of Pemako. Tika Ram Rai, the Assistant Front Office Manager, led a team whose warm, smiling welcome felt special rather than routine. It’s a traditional Bhutanese-style hotel with modern amenities. The large, well-furnished rooms had a well-stocked minibar at no charge and a fruit basket. The air conditioning worked well, as did the TV channels, and we watched the IPL. I enjoyed the stay. The service staff were exceptionally well trained and attentive through lunch, dinner, and breakfast. Master Chef Shivam was the star, serving superb Indian and Italian food with a smile. The idli at breakfast was the softest I’ve ever eaten. Tika Ram Rai has done a good job training the team and will help the hotel chain grow. Pemako Thimpu is hands down the best hotel in Bhutan and a must-visit in Thimpu. We’ll be back. Stay the same, Pemako Thimpu.

The restaurant is huge and has plenty of menu choices. I tried the local Bhutanize dish Ema Datshi, made with chili and cheese, and it was awesome, definitely a must-have. The staff greeted us warmly and helped us choose the right food. The hotel, formerly known as the Taj Pemako, is beautiful and very large.

The spa and fitness areas are a nice place to unwind after a day exploring Thimphu. The restaurants serve Bhutanese, Asian, and international dishes, prepared with good ingredients and presented beautifully. Breakfast was especially enjoyable, with lots of choice and attentive service. Staff across the front desk, housekeeping, and restaurants were professional, courteous, and genuinely warm, offering high standards with a distinctly Bhutanese touch. Rooms are spacious, spotless, and carefully designed, with comfortable beds, quality amenities, and tasteful interiors. Many have lovely views across Thimphu Valley. The whole property feels calm, refined, and thoughtfully put together, and its elegant architecture blends traditional Bhutanese design with modern touches. Pemako Thimphu is in the heart of Bhutan’s capital and offers a memorable luxury stay. It’s a good fit for leisure or business travelers looking for comfort and authentic Bhutanese hospitality, and sets a high bar for premium hotels in Bhutan.
