Gangtey Tent Resort

We had a blast celebrating New Year at Gangtey Tent Resort. The tents stayed warm and cozy even in winter, and the staff were so kind and thoughtful. Karaoke on New Year’s Eve was lovely.

We stayed one night at a tent hotel on a family trip to Phobjikha Valley. The food and service were really poor. After paying, we spotted extra charges for things we hadn’t had. If you stay at this tent hotel, check the bill carefully before you leave.

The location and view were good, and the service was fine. The room heater was low capacity to begin with, then shut off and wouldn’t restart for a long time. They told me that was normal, so I just had to sit in the cold. In a place this cold, a proper heater is essential. The food tasted bad, and I had to force myself to eat it each day. It was overpriced, too. At checkout they tried to charge me extra, and I might have paid it if I hadn’t checked the bill, which I hadn’t planned to do. For more than 7K for the room and 2K for food, they should do much better. I’d recommend finding a better place for the money.

My husband and I stayed at Gangtey tent resort while visiting Bhutan, and it was one of our best nights there. The hotel is well designed, with floor heating and a heating mat to keep the tent comfortable. The food was great, too. Highly recommended.
