The rooms were decently clean, which is the only positive I can think of. All the other problems made the stay unpleasant, and I wouldn’t recommend it. We were looking for a place to stay in Kasane at the end of January, after coming from Victoria Falls and before starting our Chobe Safari the next day. We chose it based on the nice pictures and the fact it offered meals for a fee. Arriving late, we met a grumpy, very standoffish attendant who said there was no food available to buy for dinner or even breakfast. The water stopped working shortly after we arrived. We told the attendant, who seemed annoyed that we’d mentioned it, and it wasn’t properly working again until morning. There was no mosquito net, and because the windows wouldn’t close fully, we had to wake up multiple times to kill mosquitoes. Kasane is a high malaria area. Maybe the attendant was having a bad day, but the combination of everything was not enjoyable.

The staff were absolutely friendly, and the place is easy to find. Wifi was strong in the bedroom, though not in the living and dining area. A wifi extender would make the stay more worthwhile. It’s a well-designed place close to the Zambezi river, but there were mosquitoes everywhere. Better management during mosquito season would help, and deterrents and repellents would go a long way. Those issues shouldn’t overshadow a great, growing lodging facility. A lot could be improved to reach a 4+ star rating.

The rooms are really nice, and it’s very handy for the Chobe reserve. Service felt disinterested, though, and there was no dinner or breakfast because we hadn’t pre-ordered.
