Okavango River Lodge

I’ve stayed here for a few years, and my latest visit in 2026 was probably the best. The staff have always been brilliant, and now the accommodation’s cleanliness and standards match their friendly, helpful attitude and the beautiful location. Booking from outside Botswana can still be inconvenient. I definitely recommend The Croc Camp.

I keep coming back to crocodile camp because the service stays consistently good. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the linen is always crisp and white.

We were on a tour of about 14 people and waited three hours for food. Even though we’d ordered ahead, an hour later the restaurant told us they didn’t have what we wanted in stock. Two hours after that, we got something that only resembled the meal we’d asked for. We watched other people eat while we waited, then still had to pay full price. We didn’t argue because we were with the tour group and just wanted to get out of there. The campsite itself was awful. There was loud bar noise over the wall, dirty showers, water outages, diesel fumes and 18-wheelers on the major road nearby, plus sewage smells. I honestly don’t know how the place stays in business. I’d give it negative stars if I could, and wouldn’t camp here again even if I were paid.

We camped here, but the campsite wasn’t nice, the ablution facilities were bad, and the mosquitoes were everywhere. Food took forever to arrive and the service was poor. I wouldn’t come back.
