I personally had 400 USD stolen. Be careful: I believe this accommodation has a systematic practice of searching guests' luggage for money. I've seen several reviews on other sites describing the same thing.

Dinner by the river was lovely, with good food at the restaurant, birds and hippos to hear, and a beautiful sunset view to enjoy with a drink. The lodge is beautifully laid out right on the river, and we were greeted with very friendly service. Our room was great and spotless. We'd definitely come back on our next Botswana trip.

Thamalakane Guest House is in a calm, natural setting, and my room was large, clean and very comfortable. The price was fair, and everyone on staff was kind and helpful. There's a kitchen where guests can cook for themselves. You can get food, drinks and other things in Maun town, and if you don't have a car, the guest house can take you there to shop. I'll gladly stay again next time.

The rooms were clean, but the basics were frustrating: no glasses, just one roll of toilet paper, and I had to ask for another every day. The microwave was dirty, so I couldn't heat my food. I won't stay there again. Thanks.
