This was my second visit to The Red Hut Inn, where the rooms are nice and neat. The owners are a wonderful couple, and they make the place feel welcoming and warm. The husband, who is a Chef and DJ, greeted me and showed me to my room. I had his rice and beans with stuffing, potato salad, and Barbecue chicken breast, plus a pineapple Fanta made with pure Belizean cane sugar. Dinner tasted authentically Belizean, and he's a really good Chef. When I checked out, I chatted with Julia, his wife, who gave me some good tips on cooking Chinese food. Great people and a great atmosphere.

It's a quiet, relaxing place, and I'd happily stay again. Louis and Julia are accommodating hosts, and the meals they make are really tasty. The location is okay, though a long way from the city; public buses run regularly. The dorm was a little crowded and offered little privacy. More power outlets near the beds would make charging phones easier. I'd recommend it to other travelers.

It feels overpriced for what is basically a homestay. The owner is very particular, so make sure to ask permission beforehand. If you upset them, they might even hide the air conditioner remote. It's far from the city center, though you can flag down a bus on the main street to get to the bus terminal. I'd only stay here if I had no other choice.

The Red Hut made a stressful travel snag much easier. We missed the last Ferry to Caye Caulker, but they accommodated us at the last minute and made sure our family felt cared for. We had three young kids, ages 6, 3, and 1, and the staff were so kind to them, treating us more like family than strangers. They took the stress out of the trip and welcomed us with so much love. In the morning, they prepared a lovely breakfast for all of us, then took us to the Ferry and made sure we were ready for the next part of our adventure. It's a safe, comfortable, clean, and affordable place, and the staff go above and beyond. I'd absolutely stay again. People like them make the world amazing!
