The treehouse above the waterfall was a favorite for all of us, though the other accommodation was great too. Comfortable beds, good bathrooms, and towels changed often. There’s so much wildlife around the farm, and Miriam’s cooking was amazing. She was also really accommodating, and the family had plenty of useful advice about things to do nearby and getting around. Miriam, Joe, and their boys made us feel so welcome and were incredibly helpful. We tried nearly all the activities they offer, including horseback riding, ATM caves, cave tubing, Myan ruins, and a day on their pontoon boat. We loved every one of them. We had an amazing stay at Martz Farm, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Belize jungle. The family has made something beautiful there.

We keep coming back to Martz Farm. This was our second trip, and it won't be the last. The family memories we made there mean so much to us. The meals, lodging, excursions, and people all make the place feel special. Thank you, Martinez Family, for taking such good care of us. We hope to see you all again soon!

Joe's explanations, poetry, and stories from his life honestly changed my perspective. He knows so much about the land, its history, and the culture, and as we rode through the jungle he pointed out local plants like allspice and mint. We stopped for breathtaking views, including one overlooking their lake that looked like something from a movie. We'd been hoping to go horseback riding in the jungle, and an American ex-pat recommended Martz. Miriam picked us up in the border town and drove us out. The terrain and road are tough, so it was worth paying for Miriam or Joe to take us there. Without the right vehicle, it would be a difficult drive. Miriam and Joe clearly love what they do. On the way, Miriam told us her amazing life story and how she came to Belize, and she knows an incredible amount. Their property is in the jungle, with a stream right by one of the treehouses. Joe matched each of us with a horse that suited us, then took us out and explained the property and his family's history there. Visiting Martz Farm was a life-changing experience for me.

The jungle around the property was great to explore, and the swimming hole was lovely. We also took a few day trips, horseback riding, a Mayan Cave, and a pontoon boat, and each was spectacular. The rooms were comfortable, the food was delicious, and the farm's ecological setting was spectacular too. Miriam and Joe were wonderful hosts. Thank you!

Joe and Miriam's family were so welcoming, and their group of dogs was just as friendly. I'd never ridden a horse in the mountains and forest before. Our two and a half hours riding through the jungle felt healing, and it was an indescribably wonderful experience for me. ❤️❤️❤️
