The lock box didn’t work, so we spent half an hour outside trying to call the concierge. We got through twice but were disconnected right away. It took many calls before we could speak to anyone and get into our room. I also pushed open the locked back door of the first floor room by accident. I’m sure those guests would be glad to know it opens that way. If I’d had bad intentions, I could have stolen everything inside. There was also an active construction site literally 10 feet from the property. Once inside, the room was incredibly hot, too hot for us to stay in. We turned on all the fans and set the AC to maximum. After a couple of hours, we’d run out of water and the room still wasn’t cooler. We called Alaina and waited for Management to send someone, who told us the AC was working. That suggests to me the unit can’t properly cool the room and needs replacing. The tarpon room was literally as hot as outside, and it wasn’t comfortable or livable for three days. We left without a refund and booked a room for a similar price at the Belize Ocean club, which was fantastic. Don’t waste your money here.

The building is right on the beach, which was fantastic. It’s newly constructed and air conditioned, and the bed was firm and very comfortable. We made breakfast in the kitchenette. The shower drain was a little slow sometimes, though not too bad, and there were some color stains on the sheets when we arrived. It looked like color had bled onto them before washing, so they still seemed clean. Construction on a new structure next door made noise in the mornings. We were up early anyway, so it didn’t bother us much. There’s no parking here, but we parked easily in the Placencia Public Parking lot and walked our luggage along the Placencia sidewalk. An exit from the sidewalk leads to the beach building, though it could be better marked. There was no sign when coming from the parking lot, and it was difficult to find at night. Once we got there, we were right on the beach and didn’t mind the walk. Restaurants, coffee shops, and gift shops are within walking distance, as are the Municipal Pier and Sunset Pointe harbor. We loved our stay!

The week itself was nice, and the location is great, with a cheap rate too. But the kitchenette barely had the basics, so we had to buy things just to chop vegetables and cook. Bring soap and extra towels. The concierge, or whoever was meant to help, wasn't around when needed. Vacasa feels distant, and upkeep and basic supplies clearly get very little attention. The walls are paper thin, which bothered us all week. On our last night, around ten people rented the adjoining unit, arrived just before midnight, then partied loudly and filled our room with smoke. With a remote management company focused on turning units over, there was nobody to enforce quiet hours. You’re left to handle that yourself.

We left because the room was so hot we couldn't stay. Construction was happening right next door, and the door locks were unreliable. We barely pushed one locked door and it opened. There's no parking, so expect a walk if you're driving. Getting the key was a headache too. We spent half an hour trying to reach the concierge, apparently at a US call center, and the connection kept dropping while we needed the lockbox code. We found much better places in Placencia after checking out. They still charge you even if you're unhappy and leave, so I wouldn't spend the money here.

Basic place, but right on the beach, which is an awesome spot. There was AC only in the bedroom. Lots of light switches, though most had no bulbs, and there weren't extra towels, trash bags, or shampoo.
