A few minutes from Belize City, Therapy Cabins is a beautiful island escape for a quiet, worry free break with family or friends. The sea breeze rocking you to sleep in a hammock or chair is hard to beat, and the Caribbean water is clear enough for a swim. Everything feels calm and serene here, and you feel light and free. Just be warned, you may not want to go home!
The dock lounge quickly became our favorite place to spend time. We had a fabulous week in Cabin 2, and Eugene and Emily made us feel at home and took care of what we needed. There’s plenty of paddling, snorkeling, and fishing gear, plus games. I’d highly recommend it if you’re after some time on your own.
Therapy really does fit the name. With just three cabins and two piers, the place feels secluded, but it’s easy enough to reach, a 10 minute drive and then a 30 minute boat ride from the airport. We had it to ourselves, with two lovely staff members. Eugene looks after the property and is a great snorkeling guide, with the reef about a 15 minute ride away. Emily is a wizard in the kitchen, bringing generous, wonderful meals right to your patio. The desserts were wow. If you’re lucky, you might get fresh fish or lobster caught while snorkeling or from the pier. You choose what meals you want and when. The cabins are comfortable, with a cozy bed, living area, kitchen, and supplied coffee maker, though with Emily cooking there’s no need to cook yourself. There’s warm water full of colorful fish, hammocks, kayaks, paddle boards, fishing rods, two sweet dogs, games, and wifi. You can read in a hammock all day or paddle around the whole caye. Bring ear plugs for the lively rooster next door. On the way there, ask Eugene to stop at a grocery store for incidentals like chips, drinks, sunscreen, and insect repellent. It’s a bucolic spot to check out of real life for a few days. We stayed in November 2023.
We had a great time. The cabin was clean, and eugene, Emily and Kayla were wonderful. Get your meals there, you won’t regret it.
