Turneffe Island Resort

Booked through Snorkle Ventures for a six-day snorkeling and free diving class. The accommodations, staff, and activities were lovely, and I always felt safe on the boats. Highly recommended.

The diving was unforgettable, with sharks, turtles, all kinds of fish, and a surreal trip to the Great Blue Hole. From arrival until we left, the staff were thoughtful, caring, and kind, and the service was top-notch. It made for a perfect vacation. Highly recommend!

The reefs near the resort were the standout for us, even compared with Belize’s popular sites like the Blue Hole. They’re less than ten minutes from the island, with healthy coral and marine life on every dive. We saw dozens of Reef Sharks, the biggest Loggerhead Turtle I’ve ever seen, dolphins, Spotted Eagle Rays, sleeping Sting Rays, eels, lobsters, octopuses, squid, and schools of fish. Our week at Turneffe exceeded expectations, with luxurious island accommodations, warm hospitality, good food, and plenty to do. All dives are guided, and the dive master and boat captain look after the equipment. Most are drift dives, so there’s no need to fight the current, the boat comes to you when you surface. Hilario was a knowledgeable dive master who pointed out all kinds of marine animals. Harry, our boat captain, was helpful and fun, and even rounded up some dolphins at the surface to make the dive more magical. The resort staff were attentive throughout. Shawn and Iris at the front desk made things run smoothly, and Fidel mixed delicious drinks. The food was tasty and plentiful, so nobody goes hungry. Book a spa appointment too, we had some of our best massages there.

After five previous visits, I expect to return again soon. Turneffe is a quiet, secluded place to unwind from home life, read, enjoy the sun and island drinks, swim, or meet new people. The island is private and well maintained, the staff are friendly, helpful, and professional, and the three daily meals are fresh, varied, and delicious. The dive operators are first-rate, with nearby sites, clear water, and diverse marine life. Each tank has more than 3,000 psi. The place and experience are outstanding.
