Papagayo Beach Resort

The villas have good beds and showers, and ours had a great view. The staff were friendly and helpful. The private beach and pool are about a five-minute walk away, including a short but quite steep hill. There’s an expensive supermarket nearby. Bring plenty of insect repellent in the rainy season, and rent a car if you want to explore the island. A great place for a sunny holiday in Curacao. I’d happily stay again.

We had one of our best holidays here, and we’re already planning a return. We chose Papagayo Beach Resort to celebrate our son’s birthday and the end of summer a little over four weeks ago, and it was just what we hoped for. Our OV villa was bright, spacious, and comfortable. The Front Office team, including Landiz, Hector, Cindy, and the others, greeted us by name each day and seemed to anticipate what we needed. They also made sure the birthday decorations I ordered looked exactly as I’d imagined. We loved our meals at the Beach Club and Zest too, don’t miss them. Thanks for making the stay so memorable!

The villas are fantastic for relaxing, and I really liked staying there. A few practical things could be better: proper footpaths or walking space would help, since not everyone wants to drive even 150m. I also had to turn cleaners away twice while I was in my underwear, because there was no “do not disturb” sign, and even saying “No thank you” didn’t always work. The overhead showers were awful and inefficient; handheld ones would be much better.

We were very disappointed because the resort wasn’t what we expected. The three-bedroom villa was advertised as having an ocean view, but you could barely see the ocean, and it didn’t meet the standard that description suggests. It was also very basic, with no screens to keep out mosquitoes, lizards, or other bugs. For the high price, the accommodation wasn’t worth it and didn’t look like the photos. The stay made our experience in Curaçao subpar. I travel often, and this property fell short of expectations. I wouldn’t recommend it, and I’ll choose somewhere else when I return to Curaçao.
