Imperial Motel

The room was clean, but the furnishings were worn and dated, and the bed wasn’t comfortable. An employee downstairs kept turning the music up. It’s okay for a stopover, but I’d pass next time.

The price was right, and it was fine for a night’s rest while passing through. The place is central and clean, though a bit worn down. The room was okay, but the air conditioning was off and it was really warm.

I waited around, but nobody showed up to check me in. My booking had been accepted and a check-in time arranged, yet there was no answer on the phone or at the doorbell, and I got no reply through Booking.com. I had to book a different hotel across the road.

The front desk staff were extremely nice, but the rest of the stay was rough. They said they’d charge me $300 for smoking, even though the room already smelled like stale smoke. I didn’t expect much from Budget Motel, but the experience still set the bar low. The pillows weren’t real pillows, I don’t know what they were. The worst part was the bathroom. It looked like the door had been kicked in, and there was blood by the toilet, behind the door and in the bathtub. Luckily we had Lysol wipes in the car. The lock was completely broken, and the loose handle switch was all we could use to secure the door. We had to block it with a chair to feel a little safer going to sleep. Being nice doesn’t make up for failing to maintain the place or clean it properly between guests.
