Days Inn Stephenville

We were charged a $100 damage deposit, supposedly refundable 3 to 5 business days after checkout, but nobody mentioned it when we booked or even when we checked in. When I complained, the front desk staff wouldn’t take responsibility and told me I should have read the fine print online. They also said this was standard across the industry. I called the next hotel on our trip, though, and their reservation staff said they only charge at checkout after inspecting the room. They should disclose their policies upfront.

The space-time continuum must have done something strange here. I used to come every year because I need an accessible room with a roll-in shower, but I hadn’t stayed for six years. Before booking again, I confirmed several times with staff that my room had a walk-in or roll-in shower. It didn’t. The manager, who said she’d worked there for 25 years, insisted they’d never had a roll-in shower. So what shower did I use six years ago? I’m still confused. Several family members saw me stay here before, and I remember that shower too. I wouldn’t have booked without it. I got a refund for the remaining nights and luckily found another place that met my accessibility needs.

The beds were very comfortable, the place was clean, and the staff were friendly. The rooms had really poor lighting, though, and the bathroom was disgusting, with visible mold. It needs renovating and better ventilation. A more effective air conditioner would also help with the moisture.

The rooms were spotless, peaceful, and comfortable, and the amenities were excellent. The staff were friendly and professional throughout, and I felt welcome and cared for from arrival. Thanks to the manager and whole team for the thoughtful service and for making my stay so smooth. Days Inn Stephenville felt like a home away from home, and I’d happily come back. Highly recommend.
