Ramada Limited 100 Mile House

The staff were the real highlight, so helpful and amazing while we were there for three nights because of a medical emergency. The hotel is about five blocks from the hospital. It's older and you can hear some sounds through the walls; once the hot water pipes rattled, too. Still, the rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast had pancakes, muffins, juice, yogurt, eggs, and other things, plus nice strong coffee. I saw a few dogs, so they seem to allow pets, but they weren't noisy.

Nish at the front desk made both of our weekend trips to 100 Mile easy. He was kind and helpful, and since we had our Border Collie along, he put us in a street-level room with direct outdoor access. On the second visit he even upgraded us to a King room with a hot tub, which was wonderful. The free breakfast also had hot items that time, a great bonus.

Even with the hotel full and right beside the highway, my stay was quiet and pleasant. The room was much nicer than I expected, and the staff were helpful. They also let me check in early. Breakfast was adequate, and a welcome surprise since I hadn't realized it was included when I booked. I'd stay again.

The breakfast is hot, and that pancake machine is oddly mesmerizing. It turns out perfectly round pancakes while you watch, almost worth the stay by itself. The food isn't amazing, but it's ahead of most competitors. The gym is tiny, with equipment that looks like it dates to 1998, though the sauna means you can sit in a little wooden box and still feel accomplished. The Ramada knows what it is: a basic roadside place that gets the essentials right. My room had the basics, the lights worked, the bed was there, and the shower did its job. For beer-price expectations, that's fine. This isn't the Ritz, and I liked the honest, low-fuss setup. Recommend it if you want practical lodging and automated carbs.
