Holiday Inn Express Strathroy by IHG

The kids loved the pool, and the staff were very kind. Our rooms were big and comfortable, and the hotel was surprisingly clean and crisp. The continental breakfast was substantial, with eggs, bacon, pancakes, the whole enchilada. We were very happy with our brief stay.

The only real letdown was the cot. I requested one and called to confirm; I was told it would be there, but after checking in, I was told they didn’t have any. They were able to provide a crib instead. We stayed for two nights with a group and had no trouble checking in early or checking out late. The rooms were clean, the beds comfy, and the warm pool was a hit with the kids. Breakfast was good and had lots of choices, including eggs, sausages, and hash browns. The TV didn’t have Amazon Prime, Netflix, or Disney programmed in, but you can stream from your phone to it.

We were in town for a wedding, so being allowed to check in early was really helpful. The customer service was outstanding, and the hot breakfast was very good too. Very happy with our stay, and I’d recommend this hotel.

Trying to arrange a block of rooms for a wedding was a hassle. At first I was told they had no rooms. When I pointed out I could book one online, they said they could hold a block, but fewer rooms than I wanted, which was fine. Then I learned they’d only set them aside for three weeks. Now the website shows no availability, but by phone I’m told I can book if I take two nights for $707. They say rooms are available for one night too, but won’t let me book just that single night.
