I liked the tall ceilings, big windows, and the room’s decor, and that extra blanket in the closet came in handy. The hourly bell and nearby train didn’t bother me either. I was worried about street parking for no real reason, and my husband, who’s allergic to dust, had no trouble during our stay. There is dust, and yes, it’s an old building. I’ve read the other reviews and some of what they say is true, but it wasn’t a problem for me. The room was clean, the bathroom was roomy and everything worked, and the included breakfast was lovely. Check-in was easy, the person I spoke with on the phone was very patient with my painfully tourist self, and everyone I met was kind and helpful. It wasn’t perfect, but I’m still happy to give it five stars. A bigger trash can would’ve been nice, though.

The room was beautiful and carefully cleaned, and the staff were amazing. We had an excellent time during our one-night stay. Highly recommend!

If you have mould or dust allergies, or asthma, don’t stay here. The place was dusty, smelled mouldy, and had pubic hairs from a previous guest left in the shower. The rooms weren’t clean or maintained like the photos online, which looked like they’d been taken at the turn of the century. I booked this inn a year ahead for a family wedding based on those pictures. The experience gave me the creeps. We’ll never come back. Stay at the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS instead.

The staff were kind and kept in touch well. We needed an early check-in for a work meeting, and they made it happen, which I really appreciated. There’s also a connected restaurant and shops nearby. The place has a quaint, comfortable feel, with plenty of charm and character despite its older feel. It’s not a big, modern chain hotel, but it made for a nice experience and a good way to support local. You can help yourself to tea, coffee, fruit, water, and oatmeal, and if you prefer a bath to a shower, you’ll probably enjoy the tub. Give it a chance if you’re in the area.
