Round-Up Motel

The rooms at the Round Up are spotless and stocked with all the things I need when traveling for work: a coffee machine, kettle, toaster, dishes, cutting board, and more. I've stayed in roadside motels all over the prairies and BC, and this place is a real gem. If I'm back in the area, I'll know to call Paul at the Round Up Motel.

When my transmission was damaged and I got stranded in town, the staff offered me a fair rate and flexible checkout. The rooms are standard motel style, but they're very clean and have what you'd want for a short stay. Staff were courteous and kind. I also saw the front desk offer a bottle of water to a motorcyclist who was leaving, so they'd have some for the trip. Those little acts of kindness stood out, especially since they could so easily be treated as extras to charge for. The place was quiet, too, and the curtains kept out the morning light while I slept in. I don't usually give five-star reviews, but this place deserved one.

We made a last-minute stop when heavy thunderstorms put us off camping. It was okay overall. The service was very good, the room was clean, and there was a good range of TV channels, including APTN. The location is right off the highway and seemed safe. The beds felt worn and uncomfortable, the people next door were very loud during quiet hours, and the AC didn't cool the room well, so it stayed hot all night. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, too.

Paul was kind enough to accommodate a late checkout when our plans unexpectedly changed. He also upgraded us to a suite with a full kitchen. It has two separate rooms joined by a sliding door, which would work well for a family or group. We could have stayed longer; it had all the comforts of home. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well equipped, and Paul is amazing. I can't say enough kind things about him or our stay. We'll definitely return next time we're in town. If you want a clean, comfortable, safe place, I highly recommend the Round Up.
