The pool was probably the best part of our visit. It looked larger in the picture, but the actual size was okay, and the water was warm and well maintained. Most of the room seemed fine, but a lot of it looked old and worn. The hinges on the door were rusty and coming apart, the vent looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years, and the paint job was very poor. We had two TVs, but each one only got a single channel. The bathroom was tiny and badly laid out, with its door right in front of the toilet. I kept stubbing my toe when I tried to get out. The alarms were the worst part for comfort. They were doing fire drill inspections while people were trying to relax. On our first day, the fire alarm went off while we were in the pool, and nobody had told us to expect it. The next day, around ten, the alarm system started going off repeatedly, every minute. My daughter and I both got headaches. The staff didn't feel very friendly or welcoming. After the pool, I asked whether there was a hairdryer for my daughter's hair. They said it was in the room, but I couldn't find one. I called the front desk and asked again. They said it was in the bathroom and hung up. In the end, I had to go downstairs and ask them for one in person. It was kind of cheap, but I wouldn't recommend it. We're not coming back.

I'd read some horror reviews on the way, but I had a decent, quiet stay. It's a budget hotel, and the breakfast choices weren't very varied. The front desk guys didn't smile at first, either. Part of my room needed another cleaning, though housekeeping came daily. The service desk staff were really helpful, and I wound up extending my stay. The pool was at the right temperature and everything I needed worked, so there wasn't any major issue. I told the guy at the desk he should smile more, and he did every time he saw me after that.

I didn't choose this hotel. Emergency support placed me here after I lost my home in a fire, and what should have been support has instead added stress to an already difficult time. From check-in on, the experience was deeply disappointing and sometimes concerning. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially for families or anyone in a vulnerable situation who needs somewhere safe and supportive. The hotel itself felt poorly maintained and cleanliness was a major problem. There were visible hygiene issues that made my children and me uncomfortable. Some fridges didn't keep food cold, some TVs didn't work, and the pool area looked dirty and neglected. The shower also felt unsafe: its glass door came loose while I was using it and nearly fell on me. I found supervisor Anush Mendita cold, dismissive, and without empathy. After the trauma we'd been through, I expected basic understanding and professionalism, but that wasn't what I received. When there was a confrontation after another person interfered with my belongings in the shared laundry area, I felt I was the one being penalized instead of the situation being handled fairly. Anush Menditta treated me like a criminal, screaming at me and talking down to me. He shouldn't be in hospitality or in that position. The general environment also made me feel unsafe as a parent. People were often loitering near the front entrance, including sex workers and pimps, and I saw behavior that concerned me.

The lobby was uncomfortable while our youth hockey team was there. Both sets of automatic doors weren't working, so the lobby was exposed to the outdoor temperature, and guests were repeatedly told to leave the doors open despite the cold. There were no redeeming parts of this stay. Our concerns are about promised amenities, room assignments, basic safety and maintenance, and management's conduct, not luxury expectations. I'd strongly advise others to find somewhere else nearby. Before booking several rooms, our team coordinator contacted the hotel to confirm the pool would be open and that, since there was no conference room, we could use the breakfast area to gather. We were told yes to both, and booked based on those answers. At arrival, check-in was backed up because previously issued room keys had been deactivated, leaving several guests locked out. We initially saw that as an operational problem. Then we learned the pool was closed for a chemical imbalance, even though it was the children's main amenity during a tournament weekend. One group member who had reserved a suite was also given a standard room. The room had several maintenance and safety problems: taped wiring on a wrongly connected TV, partly detached window blinds, an outlet without a cover plate with wiring exposed, loose cables hanging across the room, and a bathroom door that came off its hinges. Staff came to look, but the maintenance employee didn't seem equipped to finish the repair, so I helped remount the bathroom door to make it usable again. These weren't just cosmetic issues. That evening we tried to use the breakfast area as agreed and were refused access. When we asked manager Shubham Khaddi to explain, his story changed. First he said nobody would have given permission, though the arrangement had been confirmed before booking and was one reason we reserved multiple rooms. Then he said municipal licensing rules stopped the motel from “serving food.” When we asked about the daily breakfast, he called it “marketing.” We weren't asking the hotel to serve us anything. We'd ordered pizza from an outside vendor and only wanted to eat in the space they'd said was available. The explanations felt inconsistent and dismissive. In the end, the team gathered in reception instead.

We were two young women travelling, and shouldn't have spent the night scared for our lives. Around midnight, after someone tried a key in our door again, the door actually opened as I was getting out of bed. Hotel staff were there with the two men who'd been trying to get in. He said he hadn't realized the room was occupied and had sold it to them, even though we'd checked in at the desk when we arrived. He made me wake my sister-in-law to give her information, then left. When he forced the door open, he broke the deadbolt, so I felt incredibly unsafe. We spent the rest of the night looking up hotel safety tricks and trying to keep anyone else from getting in. The trouble had started around 9 pm, when the phone in our room rang. I answered, but there was nobody there. It happened four more times between 9 and 11:30 pm. Each time I tried to answer or reach the front desk, I got no response. A little before midnight, someone began trying a key in our door. Through the peephole I saw two men; they tried for about five minutes, then left. I figured they'd just got the room number wrong, checked the door bolt and went back to bed, though I hadn't slept at all by then. In the morning, I asked for the manager repeatedly and waited until he was supposed to be in. Then I was told he was in a meeting and I couldn't speak with him. I couldn't reach anyone by phone to discuss what had happened, either. This was absolutely unacceptable. I had the worst experience of my life at this hotel. My sister-in-law and I had chosen it as a convenient base for going back and forth to Toronto.
