Alert Bay Cabins

Gorgeous view, and there are walking trails just down the road. The cabins are cute and little, clean, and very quiet at night. They have the essentials, but towels were missing. They're basic and could use a bit of an upgrade, though they had everything else we needed. There isn't direct beach or water access because the road is privately owned by other residents. We stayed for one night at the beginning of July, when most, if not all, of the cabins were full. Pets are welcome only in certain cabins, so let them know in advance.

The grounds are pretty and the rooms are great. Our reservation had been cancelled because of a confusing computer glitch, but the team made things right. We had to switch rooms during our two-night stay, though it was barely an inconvenience. I wish there were more beach access, but that's a minor issue. The quiet, clean air, and kind people of the island are good for the soul. I'll be back for more than two nights. Bring food, since there aren't many eating options on the island.

We stopped in Alert Bay and were surprised to find a room available here. The cabins are basic, but clean, updated, and have what you need, apart from food. They're dog friendly, and you can ask for dog towels to help keep the cabin clean. So quiet, with a view that keeps changing.

A magical, convenient, clean place to use as a base, with a great view. You can listen to whales and birds amid the stillness of nature, and stargazers won't be disappointed. Have breakfast in the pavilion while whales feed below. What a fantastic find!
