Jessie greeted us so warmly that we felt at home right away, and the signs along the driveway made us chuckle as we drove in from the highway. Our room had lovely furniture that Don had made or refinished, along with a handmade quilt Jessie had sewn. They kept a roaring fire going for us, and the breakfasts and dinner Jessie cooked were all spectacular. We’d never had a four-course breakfast before, and every dish was too good to leave unfinished. We spent two nights with Jessie and Don in mid-February and loved it from start to finish. Wild birds kept us entertained right outside the patio doors, and we enjoyed walks along the beautiful snowy driveway. We can’t wait to come back in summer for some hiking.

We stayed in the Sleigh Room for a summer weekend and found the house both cozy and grand in its proportions. The online pictures don’t do the place justice. It overlooks Halls Lake, and Jessie and Don made us feel welcome right away. Their gentle, adorable German shepherd, Bruna, was part of the warm welcome too. Breakfast was delicious and kept us full until dinner. I’m intolerant to dairy and gluten, and Jessie kindly accommodated that, serving lovely plates that made me feel I wasn’t missing out. Jessie and Don were the best B&B hosts we’ve ever had. We’d love to return for a winter stay at this special place.

The breakfasts were delicious, and the picturesque trails on the property made our visit even more memorable. Don and Jessie are wonderful hosts who really know how to run a bed-and-breakfast. The views are breathtaking, and the cozy rooms are just right for relaxing. What a charming, one-of-a-kind place. I can’t wait to return someday soon!

The couple who run Stouffer Mill are such genuine, wonderful people, and our visit was perfect in every way. Their breakfast was easily the best we’ve ever had. Swimming in the pool while looking out over Halls Lake felt surreal, and on our last day we got to see deer up close.

It’s more than just a vacation spot for me. I’ve been four times because I love spending time with the two lovely owners, who put so much care and love into making it feel like home. It’s warm, quiet, and has beautiful views, delicious breakfasts, and several nice hikes around the property. Thanks so much, Don and Jessie, for your warmth and beautiful hearts. I love this place.
