Almatoit

We'd gladly come back. The cooked breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed trying both the sweet and savoury choices. Homemade yogurt with a homemade jam base was a treat. The property is lovely and spacious, with a fire pit and porch seating, plus an easy walk along the rapids to nearby restaurants. Aurelie was warm and professional as our host. Our room was immaculate and comfortable, and the breeze coming through the open windows helped us sleep very well. Nancy

Aurelie was such a friendly, lovely host, and it was a pleasure meeting her. She told us a lot about the Lac St Jean area and suggested places to visit and eat, all of which lived up to expectations. We stayed at Gîte Almatoit in April, during the quiet spring season. The rooms were pretty and very clean, the beds super comfortable, and there were personal touches and lovely decorations throughout. Parking was easy to access. Breakfast was FANTASTIC: we tried both the sweet and salty options, including waffles, croissants, and poached eggs, with local cheese, bread, and homemade yogurt. The coffee and tea were great too. Don't miss this bed and breakfast if you're visiting Lac St Jean.

Aurelie and Vincent made us feel so welcome, and we had some great conversations about Canadian history and current political events. They know the area well and were full of useful ideas for things to do. We spent three nights at Almatoit and couldn't have asked for a better stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the homemade breakfast with local food was delicious, and renting bikes from them was a nice bonus. We'd highly recommend staying here.

Aurelie was flexible about when we arrived and left. Since we had to go before breakfast, she packed us a petite dejeuner and put it in the fridge with a kind note. The B&B is beautiful, clean, and well cared for. We had a wonderful stay, thank you, and hope to return.
