L'Escale Du Routard

We had to cancel because of the forest fires and reported smog in the area, but the host wouldn’t give us a full refund even though we gave 16 days’ notice. He said a 50% refund was significant, which is true, but this was an exceptional natural disaster and cancelling wasn’t our choice. We’d never stayed there before, and the other five hosts refunded us in full without hesitation. He could have been more understanding too.

The apartment was a lovely surprise in the little village of Alma. It was fresh, clean, and had all the comforts we needed, including a washer and dryer, oven, and microwave. We arrived late and panicked a bit when nobody was there to greet us, but the door was open and the check-in directions were written just for us on a blackboard. I only wish I’d been able to say hello in person.

Right in the heart of Alma, with really friendly, courteous staff. The mattresses were much firmer than I like, though, so you might want to bring a topper if you can.

We were in Alma for a sports competition and weren’t sure where to stay, so this turned out to be a great choice. It’s pretty much perfect! The place is well furnished and really functional, with cable TV, a DVD player, Nintendo 64, board games, and Wi-Fi. Thanks! I’d definitely recommend it!
