Parkland Village Inn

The breakfast was included and had plenty of choices. Our room at the Parkland Village Inn was comfortable and roomy, and the staff were really helpful. We’ve just come back from two nights and would stay again.

We stopped at Tides Restaurant in Alma, New Brunswick while visiting Canada around Mother’s Day, and ended up coming back two days later. The first time, I had the lobster with two sides, which was the best I’ve ever eaten, fresh and briny like the ocean. My husband had scallops and loved them too. We’re from Massachusetts and used to think our lobster was the best, but this changed our minds. I ordered the same meal on our return and loved it just as much. We also had a table by a window with a hummingbird feeder, so we could watch the birds coming and going while we ate. It’s a real gem, and we’re already hoping to return next year. Five stars!

The food was fabulous, and my grandson is still talking about his burger and comparing every one he eats to it. The staff were all fantastic, and our room was extremely clean, with a great location and view. The beds were tolerable, though not the most comfortable. Getting around was the hard part. The stairs were a killer, and the warped floor in the room made walking tricky.

The food was okay, but I was uncomfortable with how payment was handled. The machine already had a $23 tip entered, and staff showed me only the final amount to tap. I didn’t get a chance to choose a tip, and only realized it had been added after paying. Tips should be up to me. Totally unacceptable. Reply to the new comment: Yes, this review was for Tides Restaurant. We were visiting New Brunswick from Ontario on a short trip. We aren’t asking for anything in return; I just wanted to describe what happened in case it helps improve the process for future guests. The payment procedure was unfamiliar to us and caused some confusion. Thanks for responding and for understanding. We really appreciate it.
