Le Manoir Charlevoix

The staff were friendly and things were tidy, but cleanliness was still an issue in the walls, carpet, and bedding. The rooms also don’t block much sound, and the air circulation is poor. Many people, myself included, appreciate the charm of this centennial building, but it needs better upkeep and some upgrades. Right now it feels like a worn-out, dated motel.

The place was outdated and had an unpleasant smell, and the website photos look better than it does in person. The building and pool area are falling apart and need a lot of care. We were very disappointed. Nobody was at the desk when we checked out, so we just left our keys in a box. We skipped the free breakfast because the place didn’t look clean. Our room wasn’t clean either: the walls were dirty, and neither the refrigerator nor the bathroom was very clean. We definitely won’t return.

Everyone was smiling, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms look a little old, but they’re clean and everything works. The beds squeak a bit, though they’re comfortable. I’d 100% come back if I’m in the area again.

Dinner was a highlight, especially the potence, and the free continental breakfast was a nice extra. The waitress seemed a bit grumpy that morning, though. It’s a pleasant place for one night, but the building and rooms are very old, so I wouldn’t want to stay much longer.
