Hotel et Pavillons Le Petit Manoir du Casino

The room was nice, the location was perfect, and the main lobby and games area were great. But we booked for the beautiful pool and were told when we arrived that it was adults only. Our kids had been looking forward to swimming, and there was nothing on the website or during booking to say they couldn’t use it. There was a “family” pool, but it was a warm-ish hot tub, not much good for swimming. We were very disappointed after staying one night with our family of four. I’d recommend this hotel for adults, but kids will be disappointed.

The panoramic view room lived up to its promise, but it was close to the elevators, and the door felt like cardboard. You could hear absolutely everything in the corridor. The patio doors weren’t very soundproof either, so conversations in the parking lot came through clearly. The noise affected our sleep too much, so we wouldn’t return for that reason. The staff were super friendly throughout the hotel. It’s in a nice location, and La Malbaie has quite a few nice restaurants to explore. It was a great base for the parks and hiking. The spa was nice and clean, and we went every day. The massages were hit and miss: one of the two therapists was great, the other was very friendly but used no pressure and didn’t cover areas that are normally covered.

The rooms were scenic, spacious, and clean, and the amenities were great. The employees were professional and courteous, from the shuttle guy Anake to the front desk clerks Tao, Marie-Josée, and Claude. The Spa personnel were the same kind of people as the hotel staff: Estaire, Donald, and Jessica the massage therapist. Great place, and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

The river view from the pavilion balcony was the first thing that stayed with us. Sunrise over the water and mountains looked like a postcard, and we even had breakfast out there. The pavilion itself was roomy, clean, and quiet, and the Zen spa was relaxing, nicely designed, and never too crowded. The free water machine was a welcome touch. We found Le Petit Manoir du Casino especially easy with a family, and the staff were super friendly. A few small things could make it better: an outdoor kids' pool with a little slide for summer, and a bathroom or changing stall near the indoor children's pool so parents don't have to walk past the front desk in wet swimwear. I may have accidentally given a few guests a comedy show doing that. In the kitchenette, a dish sponge would have made more sense than the little mop we couldn't quite figure out. Everything else made for a lovely, peaceful stay, close to everything in La Malbaie. We'd happily come back.
