L'Eaurizon

We spent Easter long weekend here. The views were absolutely breathtaking.

The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, and the kitchen had more than we expected. The scenery was magnificent, and we had such a pleasant stay that I would have liked to stay longer. We did run short on linens. There weren't enough towels, and no extra bedding for the sofa bed or folding beds. Garden-level windows could also use blinds: the sun came straight in all day and hit us in the face, especially at meals.

We spent a week here as a group of eight and everyone enjoyed it. The cottage was clean, well located, and had a superb river view. A few practical details got annoying over the week. There was just one bath towel per person, one hand towel in each bathroom, and no bath mats. We were glad there was a washer and dryer on site, but we had to use them more often than we'd have liked because of the towel shortage. A laundry room would have been appreciated. The garden-level shower also splashes water onto the floor even when you're careful, so it needs cleaning afterward. And the outdoor table sits in full sun all day, so umbrellas would have helped.

The shared spaces were huge, so everyone could find a spot, and the view was lovely. It was so peaceful, just right for the long-awaited family gathering. The standard of the place met our expectations, though we did share a few small concerns with the provider. We'll see whether anything changes, such as adding a curtain in one of the bedrooms or adjusting the doors so they don't creak.
