Motel 6

The staff were friendly and the price was all right, but I wouldn’t stay here again. Our room had no internet signal, so we had to go to the lobby. The heat was off when we arrived and it took an hour to get comfortable. The heater was so loud we turned it off to sleep, then the room got too cold to sleep in. There were no extra sheets and only two thin ones on the bed. The breakfast room had apparently been without heat for a month. Nothing was set out because they didn’t expect anyone to come down, and the desk girl put out bread for toast, milk, and orange juice. There was no waffle mix or fresh fruit, and the juice was stale. The bathroom was dirty and the TV remote was broken. This motel is a joke and should be avoided. We’ve stayed at The Bluebird Motel and the Lazy J Motor Inn, and both are much nicer than Motel 6.

The rooms were clean, I’ll give them that, but I probably won’t come back. At the same nightly price, my usual Calgary hotel is much nicer. The WiFi kept dropping, so watching YouTube was out, and the small TVs had no guide, meaning you had to flip through channels. They had a waffle maker and syrup but no batter, leaving cereal or toast with just one kind of jam. The bathroom fan didn’t work, and there was rust on the light fixture. There wasn’t any coffee or tea in the room either.

I spent a little over two weeks here on business, and the staff at Motel 6 took such good care of me and my dog. The ladies gave her treats whenever they saw her and made sure she felt welcome and loved. Shalaine and Heather made this a stay we’ll remember. Thank you from me and Ms. Pipa. Claresholm is a lovely community, and the staff are outstanding. If you’re traveling with your pup, I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The guest laundry came in very handy after a two-hour ride through an August winter storm left everything completely soaked. Staff were helpful and accommodating, and the place was clean and comfortable. A great place to stay.
