The lake was the highlight for me. Renting a paddleboard or kayak was easy, and the self-serve lake was beautiful and quiet. I really enjoyed that. The rooms were very soundproof, so I didn't hear anyone talking, and the sheets and pillows were comfortable, with extra covers provided. There's also a good-sized fridge, and a kitchen by the service desk with two microwaves, a vending machine, coffee, and hot water. The hotel itself feels dated. The AC was like a lawnmower starting up each time it came on, then quiet when it switched off. I couldn't sleep for either of my two nights. The bedside lights were painfully bright, with no switch to turn them off from the bed, so you had to get up and go to the hallway. The shower had no shower head, just a long metal pipe spraying water. One clothing drawer was stuck, the TV only had cable, and the hospital-blue lighting made the room unpleasant. The pool looked like a swamp, even though staff said its tests were clean. It needs an update. I spent half an hour clearing debris from it. The hot tubs were nice, though only lukewarm. Outside, you can hear cars speeding along the highway while trying to relax by the green-looking pool. The recommended restaurant across the street seemed geared toward groups of retired golfers, and the hotel had a similar feel, with people chatting and playing golf together.
