Homeward Inns of Canada

It was a decent, low-budget stay, clean and no-frills, which was all we needed. The beds were a bit hard for my bad back, though comfortable enough for most people. Watching TV was awkward because the beds faced one way and the TV was on the side wall. There was a microwave and small fridge, but no coffee maker or kettle. I think we were in an older section because we had a dog. The rooms opened onto a hallway, with no way outside without going down the hall. I'd prefer the rooms that open onto the parking lot, so if that matters for mobility, I'd ask for one. I can't really comment on service, since we just checked in, but the woman in the morning was very nice and let me into the office to get ice when we couldn't find it. The location was easy to access, with lots nearby.

Room 106 was great. It had recently been renovated, with fresh paint, new flooring, and a beautiful bathroom. We had a couch and two comfy chairs for relaxing or reading, plus a Roku TV with over 500 channels. The air conditioner and heater had a remote, and the person who checked us in was very friendly.

The price was decent and the stay was no-fuss. It was a motel-style place, with a large, decent room and new, quiet AC. The bedding was a bit questionable since the bed covers doubled as comforters.

At around $150 without breakfast, the room feels overpriced. Everything is dark-colored, so it's hard to tell whether the furniture is clean or dirty. Something feels fishy.
