Country Squire Motel

We had a room with a Jacuzzi, and there was plenty of hot water for both that and a shower. The water pressure was great too. The room was clean and comfortable, with the usual fridge, microwave, and coffee machine. The motel is run by a very friendly gentleman who gave us good places to eat and chatted with us outside. There’s also a lovely beach nearby that wasn’t too crowded. I’d highly recommend staying here.

After a 13-hour drive, we were greeted at the desk by a really welcoming, engaging woman, which was a pleasure. The rooms are a bit dated, but very clean. I’d definitely recommend it for an overnight stop.

The beds were extremely firm and in bad shape, so it felt like sleeping on the floor. I had a horrible night and left instead of staying the two nights I’d planned. The room was under my girlfriend Carole-Anne Mckinnon’s name. We went to the knights inn down the street, where the beds were very comfortable, the service was great, and the staff were much friendlier. At Country Squire Motel, the staff were rude, especially the woman, who was very ignorant and had an attitude. The place was outdated, and they use one-ply toilet paper, so bring your own. The rooms smelled like a moldy basement, and you might want an air freshener. I don’t recommend Country Squire Motel.

It’s showing its age, but the place was clean, well kept, and welcoming. The picnic table with an umbrella out front was a nice touch. A family member booked for us, and for the low cost it turned out surprisingly well. The family-run staff were friendly and attentive. I’d recommend it to anyone travelling on a budget.
