Comfort Inn Baie-Comeau

We had a good night's sleep here after leaving a nearby hotel early because of a bad experience. It's not fancy, but the breakfast was excellent: scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, sourdough toast, bagels, cream cheese, spreads, juice, cereal, and waffles. Our dog-friendly room had no unpleasant smell and opened right onto our parking spot, which made packing easy. The water pressure was good, and the water got hot.

Both times we stayed, we booked two rooms together well in advance, yet ended up assigned rooms at opposite ends of the hotel. The first reservation was made about six months ahead. When I asked the receptionist to put us in adjoining rooms, he said he couldn't because the hotel was full. About a week later, we made the same kind of reservation for one night, and it happened again. The lobby receptionist was also puzzled that whoever assigned the rooms had separated us, but said there was nothing he could do while fully booked. On the first stay, one room just behind the left side of the lobby reeked of cigarettes. People were often smoking outside the lobby, and we thought the room's air conditioner might be drawing it in. We did get that room changed, but it was still nowhere near our other room. On the return a week later, we found little ants crawling on the floor and office table in one of the rooms.

The room was super clean, and the people running the place were really nice. Great location, too, and the hot breakfast was excellent.

Breakfast was a nice finish to the stay. Check-in was handled by a nice young guy, and my room was clean and comfortable, with a hot shower.
