Fairmont Banff Springs

The hotel blends old-fashioned charm with modern comfort, and its beauty and history in the Rockies made an impression as soon as we arrived. Just as memorable was the warm, professional staff. Everyone we met was helpful and welcoming. Corina from housekeeping took extra care to get our room just right, and Ewan at the Adventure Centre was a lively, knowledgeable guide on the hotel history tour. That tour was a highlight. We left feeling rested and grateful, and are already thinking about coming back.

We loved the daily activities, especially tobogganing and the outdoor hot pool. The hotel felt well organized, too. There were other families with kids in our wing, while rooms with dogs were in a separate area, and our room layout kept things quiet. Everyone was so kind. The hotel is very child friendly, from the Italian restaurant server who brought over a wet cloth for our son to the room cleaners, who did a lovely job and even folded the baby’s blanket. Great customer service everywhere.

The whole stay felt like a dream, and there isn’t a thing I’d change. My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon at Fairmont, and it was the best vacation experience we’ve had. We had a king room with an amazing view, and both enjoyed spa treatments. The spa has three plunge pools and a large mineral pool to use before or after a treatment. Service was impeccable, and the concierge was always available and accommodating. They arranged to have a chilled bottle of prosecco, which I prefer to champagne, and two glasses delivered to our room within five minutes of our getting back in the mid-to-late afternoon. We’d love to return for our anniversary and get the same room, or at least the same side of the hotel, for the Canadian Rockies view.

Don and Jay went above and beyond after my bag was left behind when the shuttle took our other luggage. We only realized it was missing once we reached the airport in Calgary, and they got it back to me just in time for my flight home. Service was outstanding throughout the stay, from the attentive servers and bartenders to the spa team. We ate at the Vermillion Room, Rundle Bar and Grapes, and each had impeccable service and great food. The spa was another highlight, with impressive attention to detail. Doei gave me a fantastic massage. Definitely worth a visit.
