Barry's Bay Golf Resort

We left within an hour of checking in and got no response from the host about why we left. The listing felt misleading, with missing amenities and no privacy. There’s no staff on site, and the rooms in the main house are poorly insulated and very close together. We were told only a day before arrival that our room shared a common space. That area is directly outside the room door, so it was noisy and intrusive. If you’re coming to relax, I’d think twice. The host didn’t respond to our multiple calls and texts. We only heard from someone covering for her who didn’t know basic information about the property. We expected poor cell service in this remote location, but the Wi-Fi barely worked, and with no reply from the host, we had to ask another guest for the password. Despite what was promised, our room had no coffee maker or kettle. The advertised boat bookings weren’t available. The TV is only in the shared space, and the HVAC is shared across all rooms. The individual temperature controls in the rooms don’t work. I wouldn’t recommend it.

After a local wedding, we spent a night at this quiet little getaway. We arrived after dark to a spacious, super clean room, then woke to a beautiful view of a small lake. A lovely place for a night or two. I’d stay again when visiting Killaloe and Barry’s Bay.

We drove in at night and couldn’t see much, but opening the curtains in the morning was a wow moment. The view was truly stunning. This place is an amazing little gem: check-in and check-out were easy, and our private cabin had very high ceilings, a comfy bed, air conditioning, and a great bathroom.

A beautiful resort, spacious and quiet for four people. The owner is super nice and friendly. I caught a large 3lb bass in the water. Highly recommend!
