Idabel Lake Resort

The place itself was cute, but after everything that happened, it’s the worst place I’ve stayed. The listing said two rooms without explaining that there wasn’t a solid floor-to-ceiling wall between them. There’s little privacy if you’re sharing with anyone beyond your immediate family, and light sleepers may hear snoring. For Big White skiing or snowboarding, I’d look for a hotel or Airbnb closer to the mountain at the same price. I booked through Booking.com and was charged a $100 pet fee even though I brought no pet. Before the trip I contacted Booking and the hosts, but couldn’t get it sorted. During my vacation I had to spend more time calling both to pursue the refund. I eventually got the pet fee back, with no help from the host. I checked out March 2 and should have received my $100 security deposit back. It’s now August 11, and despite contacting Booking.com and the host, including messaging the host’s cellphone, I still haven’t received it. That’s why I’m writing this. Running a business and not reimbursing a guest $100 feels like pure greed. It seemed like they tried to keep $200 from me. Never again. I hope others avoid the place. Good luck with life.
