The breakfast setup was so generous, with the fridge full of eggs, cheese, milk and meats, plus coffee, bread and spreads. Our unit was spotless and welcoming, and had all the kitchenette utensils we needed. We only stayed one night before the ferry to Newfoundland, just a four-minute drive away, but the sea view was breathtaking. Gary showed us around and shared ideas for our short visit. We walked up the hill behind the unit for a stunning panorama of town and water. If we’d known how lovely it was, we’d have booked another week. Even with the long drive from Toronto, my husband says he’d come back. A real gem.

Breakfast felt like eating at home, with bologna, bacon, eggs and bagels along with the usual cereal, toast and fruit. Everyone I met was really nice, and the other guests were friendly, courteous and considerate. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

It feels more like staying with a friend than at a regular hotel or motel, which made the place relaxed and comfortable. I’ve paid a lot more for a lot less here. Highly recommend it.

We needed an early start for the Labrador ferry, so having a good range of breakfast items guests could help themselves to worked well. The room was spacious and had a great view, though there was a smell I couldn’t identify. Maybe it was the salty sea air, but I’m not sure. The location was great overall.

I was glad to find a Tesla charger here, since there are very few EV chargers in the area. We’d booked mainly for that, before catching the Newfoundland ferry in the morning. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel sits on a hill with a great view. Even though we checked out at 5:30 am, we could still have breakfast in the self-serve area. The owner was great, and his 88-year-old mom, who checked us in, was wonderful too.
