Auberge Eldo Inn

The rooms and grounds were clean, and housekeeping did a great job. It’s an easy walk to the beach, too. A good family-friendly place to stay.

The staff were friendly and pointed us toward a great restaurant, 17. They mentioned they’d only recently become the new owners, and we hope things go well for them. The inn was clean and comfortable, conveniently just off the highway near a gas station and A&W. Our beds were comfortable, too. An in-room coffee maker would’ve been handy, though Tim’s and A&W are close by.

It’s easy to find, close to Tim Hortons, and the beds were very comfortable. We had to ask for towels and toilet paper, but they brought them. There was a slight carpet smell, though it wasn’t too bad. No restaurant on site, but they suggested a few places. At $100.00 plus tax, it’s a cheap room for the night if you’re watching your budget.

We paid for a room and were then asked to move into a basement storage room that wasn’t acceptable for guests. We were moved without permission, our personal belongings, including expensive equipment, were gone through, and now the blame is being shifted with false accusations. A motel owner’s job is to respect guests’ privacy, provide proper service, and not enter rooms or handle belongings without authorization. I am completely legal in Canada, and any proper authority is welcome to verify that. It is not your place to decide who is “legal” or “illegal” or suggest deportation. Those comments are inappropriate and unprofessional, and have nothing to do with the issue. This behaviour is unacceptable. Instead of taking responsibility, apologizing, and addressing what happened, you’re attacking us personally and making up stories to cover your own misconduct. Please deal with the real issue.
