Future students, I want to warn you how bad this place can be. I stayed here for years and the receptionist treated me horribly, with such rudeness that I’ll never forget or forgive it. Maintenance was no help when serious things went wrong, driving around in circles in a golf cart instead. I had over 1000 problems during my stay, including bugs and floods. When my sink broke, they covered the hole with duct tape instead of trying to repair it. Everything feels broken, and I can’t understand how anyone is supposed to live like that. Rent is another issue. I strongly recommend students check out Boardwalk or nearby apartments instead, for half the price and better quality.

MRU was the best of the few on-campus hotels I’ve stayed at. My partner and I were looking for an affordable place near Grey Eagle Casino for a concert and came across it. The front desk staff were so kind, and our room was comfortable, nicely furnished, and stocked with handy basics like cups, coffee, soap, and shampoo. That’s more than I’d expect at a budget on-campus hotel. The price was over 50% less than staying at Grey Eagle, and we’ll come back if we’re in the area again.

The room was satisfactory, but the hot weather made the stay uncomfortable because there was no air-conditioning. If I’d known that, I wouldn’t have booked. I’d suggest going in any season but summer, when it gets sweltering.

For about 2.5 weeks in the rainy summer of 2016, I stayed in this university dorm that rents rooms in summer. At $50 a night, it wasn't bad. Paying $100 got you a completely private space, but I would've taken the chance of sharing a kitchenette with up to three others for half the price. Mine was a four-bedroom suite with a common living area, though I had the whole place to myself. Spartan, like a dorm, remember those days? The card-operated laundry downstairs was somewhat confusing. The stairs run around the outside and the elevators are in the middle, so take the stairs. A decent place to crash and maybe get a little reading done.
