Christina made our late check-in easy and made sure we had no problems. The room was well kept, with a comfortable bed and nicely renovated appliances. The water pressure was great and it got hot right away, so it felt like good value. You could hear the nearby train tracks, but it really wasn’t very loud. We’ll be back next time we’re in the area.

The beds were actually really comfortable, with nice comforters, and I was going to leave a good review. But at 8:30 in the morning, while I was half asleep and taking my dog out, an older man came from the house next to the hotel and screamed at me. We’d cleaned up after our dog. I saw the check-in staff member come out of that house shortly afterward, so I’m assuming they’re family or a couple. He had no right to approach and yell at anyone, especially women travelling alone. If there was an issue, he could have talked to us. That’s no way to treat guests, and it seems like he missed the lesson on basic manners.

The king room was on the small side, but it worked fine for my husband and me, and we were impressed by how clean it was. Getting into the room and checking out were both easy. We had a great stay and will definitely come back. Thanks for having us!

Kaitlyn and the rest of the team were excellent hosts. They went out of their way to make sure I had a clean, comfortable room, and worked around my work-from-home schedule so they wouldn’t disrupt my day or scare my cats. I was glad they could stay with me. The price was just right, and there are plenty of places nearby to get food, including a Walmart for things to keep in the mini fridge. The restaurant was closed, and the shower took a little longer than a regular hotel to get hot, but neither was a big problem. Trains toot their horns four times as they pass on the nearby track, but the sound wasn’t loud in the room. I grew up near tracks, so it was familiar and even a little comforting. A quiet, friendly place that lets you bring cats. I can’t say enough good things.

We enjoyed being right by the lake and marina, and the room itself was clean and quiet. The restaurant was closed due to Covid, but Newcastle was only a short drive away, with pleasant patios and an all-day breakfast spot. It felt tucked off the beaten track, even though it’s just off the highway, and there are nice little beaches and a park nearby. Friendly, helpful service too. We’ll definitely return.
