Travelodge by Wyndham Brandon

After 12 hrs driving from Ontario to Calgary to relocate, I needed a clean bed and shower. Instead, the receptionist told me my room was upstairs in a building with no elevator. I hauled all 3 bags/suitcases up, only to find she'd 'forgotten' to activate the key. I went back down so she could correct it, and got no apology. The room was disgusting. There were several stains on the bed comforter (pictured), yellow and brown marks all over the bathtub, which looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in months (pictured), and something in the fridge that might have been blood or some kind of jam (pictured). I paid $140.00 and couldn't make myself shower, change into pajamas, or sleep there. I've been a flight attendant for many years and have stayed in plenty of hotels, good and bad, but this is my first negative review. Save your hard-earned money, there are plenty of other hotels to choose from.

The pool area was warm, cozy, and spotless, and our room was clean and comfortable too. The staff were outstanding. Thanks, we'll be back!

The main-floor outside entry to my room was a feature I loved. Our rooms were clean and updated, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The baseball boys spent hours in the pool, hot tub, and waterside each night. We could even watch a game at Andrews field out back from our room. There's a Chicken chef, bar and vendor on site, which the ball dads loved. I'd 100% stay here again.

$300 for a hotel in Brandon is excessive, and my corporate discount wasn't applied. When I first got to room 201 at 1030pm, its door was propped open, leaving it accessible since housekeeping had cleaned it. They told me no other rooms were available, so I had to stay in a room that had probably been unsecured most of the day and evening. Totally unacceptable. The mini fridge in 201 also sounds like a train all night.
