Brentwood Bay Resort - Adults Only (16+)

The staff are what give Brentwood Bay Resort its heart. Ada welcomed us at check-in, and everyone we met, including the restaurant team, Shay at the front desk, and manager Tracey, was kind and attentive. They really seemed to care about how we were doing. My husband, my mum, and I took a spontaneous trip to celebrate Christmas early and see the lights at Butchart Garden. Our room was spotless, nicely furnished, well equipped, and had a gorgeous view of the Marina Harbour. We ate all three meals at the Pub, and everyone loved the food. We left with lovely Christmas memories and can’t wait to come back. The resort is wonderful, and I’d highly recommend it.

The BBR pub was a real bright spot. We ate there the night before and loved the fish tacos and Mediterranean salad. Our room was also great, the location was beautiful, and the staff were lovely. No complaints about the accommodation. Arbutus restaurant was a very different experience. The service was good, but the food was disappointing. My halibut arrived cold and dry, with no flavour at all. My partner’s cauliflower steak was a small, cold piece of uncooked cauliflower, and looked like about $2 worth of ingredients. Both portions felt closer to small entrees than full meals, even though the presentation was nice. We mentioned it to the waiter, but no compensation was offered. After spending almost $100, we left hungry and confused. We’ve only ever written reviews when we enjoyed a meal, so this is our first negative one. We hope Arbutus Room & Bar takes this and the other feedback we’ve since seen as constructive criticism, so future paying customers aren’t disappointed. Cheers.

We’ve been coming back since 2006, and our early September stay was another great one. The rooms look out over Mill Bay, and sitting on the deck with the marina view is lovely. They’re luxurious, quiet, and spotless. We’ve always enjoyed the food at both the pub and restaurant, and Butchart Gardens, one of our favorites, is close by. When we arrived, there was a mechanical issue in our room that wasn’t the resort’s fault. They dealt with it quickly and courteously. Thanks to Jodie at the front desk and manager Tracy for taking such good care of us. We highly recommend staying here and look forward to our next visit.

Samantha made organizing our company forum so much easier. She was professional, organized, and hospitable, which took pressure off our team and let us focus on the rest of the event. Guests had travelled from across Canada, and the experience surpassed what we’d expected. Our semi-private dinner in the Arbutus room was a lovely evening, with a thoughtful menu and a charming harbour view. We were a fairly large group ordering a la carte, and Thomas, the wait staff, and kitchen took great care of us. The catering was delicious and on schedule, and the staff were attentive and very lovely. The meeting space was well maintained and suited our sessions perfectly. The accommodations were incredible, and a relaxing way to unwind after a full day. I’d recommend Brentwood Bay to any organization planning an event, and I’ll definitely return on my own.
