That shared sitting room gave our group of six a comfortable place to hang out, and the bathrooms were clean and worked fine. We liked the old cottage feel, too. Pine Lodge definitely isn’t modern, but if you’re after a traditional lodge, you’ll be happy here. We were staying there before a week-long snowmobile trip, and the owners kindly let us leave our trucks and trailers parked while we were away. Dinner was ready when we arrived: a tasty, properly cooked half rack of ribs, bigger than any I’d seen. The owners’ two boys looked after us at dinner and breakfast. They both deserve five stars for their service. Thanks for a great stay!

After cooking for other people for 50 years, I’m so tired of it. Getting a delivery of ready-made meals from Pine Lodge each week has been the best gift. The food is plentiful and the quality is beyond excellent. Some of the dishes were things I’d never tried making myself, and it feels like a little bit of heaven arriving every week. A week’s worth would make a lovely gift for someone, too. I can’t imagine it going unappreciated.

The Lodge has such a distinctive feel, like stepping back into the 1940s, and it sits in a beautiful wooded spot. We tried the Pine Lodge Sugar Shack brunch today and loved the full sugar shack experience. The homemade food kept coming, and the pea soup and donuts were the best we’ve ever had. Service was wonderful. Definitely recommend!

The food was sparse, not very good, and served in a rush. We could hear staff saying they wanted to finish by 12 and complaining that we should have booked earlier, even though their own poor time management was what put things behind. We still left within our allotted time slot. I definitely don’t recommend this, probably one of the worst "sugar shacks" in the area. The hayride was late, so only half our group got to go. Staff told us the other half could ride after the meal, but we overheard them laughing and saying there wouldn’t be an after. We chose to keep tubing because the hayride still hadn’t arrived, and that cut into our meal time. We’d shown up an hour before the meal to leave enough time, but he wasn’t there. When we raised it with staff, they said we should have booked earlier in the day, then kept complaining about our group’s booking because they had to drive to Buckingham afterward for a hockey game. As the owner, defending that behavior says more than enough about this business.

The maple donuts were probably the best I’ve ever had, and the rest of the brunch food was amazing too. Service and staff were great, and the atmosphere was lovely. Their maple syrup was tasty and quite affordable. The sugar shack experience was worth every penny.
