Heritage Inn & Convention Centre Brooks

We didn't use the rooms, so I can't really rate them, but we rented a large room for an event our organization hosted and it worked great. Everyone from the hotel was helpful, and the cook even handled specific dietary requests. I can't recommend it enough.

Breakfast was really worth it, and thanks to the staff and management, we had a good stay. The Wi-Fi kept dropping, so we eventually had to use our data. There's another hotel right next door, which I think is also called Heritage Inn, and I went to the wrong one first. There was also a reservation mix-up: I'd told the person I spoke to that we were six, three adults and three children. They later realized they'd undercharged us, but comped the difference and included two extra breakfasts.

The bathroom was tiny, the tub hadn't been properly washed, and the water kept cutting out. It took five tries to brush my teeth, with the water stopping and loud pipe rumbling starting in the wall. The shower head was wobbly, there was no bathroom fan, and paint was peeling off the walls. The bed sagged, the furniture was dated, and although our room looked onto the atrium, the windows wouldn't open, so there was no airflow. The whole place feels very dated. We won't be back.

I wouldn't recommend staying here because of the hotel's relationship with Brooks residents. People with power over ownership can tell them who they're allowed to host for events.
