Accent Inns Burnaby

I’ve stayed here several times and like the quirky duck theme and the funny messages around the hotel. It’s very pet friendly, and pets are treated like any other guests. My one real gripe is the coffee machine and in-room amenities. Kamloops Accent inn does those better, and I’d expect things to be more consistent across the Accent Inns. As someone who takes coffee seriously, that matters to me. Kamloops also matched a third-party rate when I asked, while this Accent inn wouldn’t. I got a very curt email, then was told by phone that no Accent Inn should ever do that. Service varies a lot between these motels. Kamloops has been my best stay by far; Victoria was the worst, though still okay.

Ms. Tess made us feel especially welcome. She checked in with guests, arranged a room change right away when our heater failed on the first day, and noticed our frequent lobby coffee trips. She offered to put a coffee maker and beans in our room. As first-time guests, we really appreciated her care and positive energy. When the shower knob gave us trouble, Ms. Rhoda came up after we called and fixed it within minutes. The rest of the staff were pleasant and attentive, and housekeeping kept the room tidy and refreshed the towels. We stayed for seven days. The location was handy, close to Vancouver, with a bus stop nearby and Superstore about a 10-minute walk away. For a three-star hotel, the clean room, cozy bed and kitchenette were quite decent. Cooking saved us a lot compared with eating out, and both the heater and AC worked well. Our main complaints were the noise from kids running, shouting and laughing in the corridor, which carried into the room, and the limited facilities. There’s no gym or even a small pool. We appreciated the warm service and would stay again.

Four weeks is a long time to spend in a hotel, but it’s been a fantastic stay. It’s quiet here, with no parties nearby or late-night disruptions, and housekeeping treats the room respectfully, like my home away from home. The rooms and property are clean, the service is polite and excellent, and the location is great. They’ve made the work travel part of my job much less stressful. I’ll stay here again. Thank you.

The staff have always been welcoming, and the rooms are consistently clean with comfortable beds. It’s conveniently close to the highway. I’ve stayed here five times, and it’s my usual choice when I travel to Burnaby or Vancouver.
