I felt trapped in a nightmare and would never pay before seeing a hotel room again. I paid way too much, and I would have left immediately if I’d had enough money to find another room while waiting for a refund to my card. This place needs to be reported and sanctioned for its disrepair, dirt, and lack of sanitation. The room was dirty everywhere: dog hair clumps on the carpet, stains on the walls, filthy blinds, rusted lamps and outlets, and bugs in the light fixtures. It hadn’t been properly turned over. Clothes, beer caps, and a dog chew toy were left behind by previous guests. The smoke alarms were disconnected and in a desk drawer. There was a smell of something smoked, though not tobacco cigarettes. The shower had mildew, the drain plug was mildewed, and the windowsill had mold and bugs. The air conditioner didn’t work. I’d been told there was a full-size fridge, but it was a mini fridge. The kitchenette lacked essentials; I had to ask for pots and pans, which were old and in bad shape, and there weren’t enough utensils or a dish sponge. There wasn’t enough bedding. We had to bring towels to the front desk to get replacements, and once had to wait because they said they were running short. The website listed a hot tub, but there wasn’t one. The roof was rotting; wallpaper, vinyl flooring, and cabinets were peeling, with the cabinets also chipped and stained. The deadbolt wouldn’t lock, the bedroom lamp didn’t work, the nightstands were stained and chipped, and brown stuff dripped from the bathroom vent. The room number was falling off the wall, the hallway mirror was breaking, bed springs stuck out, and there was no remote. The coffee maker and pool were dirty. I never saw a maid. The windows wouldn’t lock, and there was a giant rat trap just outside the back door. Customer service was the worst. I asked staff why the room was so bad and whether they checked rooms before renting them. They said they checked them “Periodically”! When I asked what they’d do to fix things, I was told “Nothing,” without an apology, then told to “Take My Business Elsewhere”! RUN RUN RUN!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

This place was a filthy dump, and the staff were unhelpful and unapologetic. The room had a weird smell, the bathroom door wouldn’t close, and we had to ask for toilet paper because none was provided. The carpet, furniture, mattress, and comforters were all dirty and outdated. I’d give it -5 stars for the filth and unhygienic conditions. We had a miserable stay, and honest reviews could have saved us the trouble. I don’t believe the good reviews, which I think were written by the people who run the place. It needs to be demolished. Don’t waste your time or money here. There are casino hotels in town that might not cost much more and are clean and good.

We stayed three nights and found lots of human hair on the bed. On both the first and second days, I hung the “please make up room” label before leaving, but when we returned it had been flipped to “Do not disturb” and the room hadn’t been cleaned. I complained at reception and was told the room was marked “DND” (do not disturb). I don’t know who would turn the label around and expect their belongings to be left alone.

I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotel rooms over the past 10 years as a rep, and this place was filthy, dirty, and rude. The bed was falling apart, the nightstands were filthy, there was no toilet paper, and my room had a wasp nest on the door jamb. I also saw pubic hairs in the bathroom. They called us at 9 a.m. to get us out. We asked if checkout wasn’t at 11, and then right at 11 a.m. they called again to tell us to leave. I don’t understand how anyone could give this dive five stars. Road worriers like me should stay away. This hotel is for white trash.

The age of the hotel seems to account for a lot of its flaws. Still, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. If you need a place to stay, I’d recommend it, and with some updating to the rooms I’d recommend it without reservation.
